About Tecumseh Canada

Warmth, Style, and Heritage

Welcome to the world of Tecumseh Canada, where traditional artistry meets modern comfort. For years, our name has been synonymous with premium footwear, celebrated specifically for our renowned Canadian wool-lined mukluks and authentic Canadian leather moccasins.

Handcrafted in Canada

Every pair of Tecumseh boots and moccasins is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality. Proudly crafted in Canada, we utilize only the finest materials—genuine Canadian suede, rich leather, and 100% sheepskin and merino wool linings. Our footwear is not mass-produced; it is meticulously handcrafted by skilled Canadian artisans who pay close attention to every cut, stitch, and finishing touch. This dedication ensures that when you step into a pair of Tecumseh mukluks, you are stepping into a unique work of art designed to last for generations.

Our Commitment to Culture & Tradition

Tecumseh Canada is deeply rooted in the land and its history. We believe in honouring the origins of our craft by supporting and celebrating Indigenous culture.

  • Supporting Tradition: We have proudly sponsored the Calgary Indian Stampede Princess, providing wardrobes of stylish, functional footwear to represent our shared heritage.
  • Community Roots: Our founder, Sean Dupuis, also established Spirit Moccasins, an Indigenous registered brand dedicated to authentic footwear that honours Indigenous craftsmanship.

Unparalleled Warmth & Comfort

We believe footwear should feel as good as it looks. Our signature 100% merino wool lining offers exceptional insulation, keeping you warm in the harshest winter conditions, while our genuine hides provide breathability and durability. Whether you are braving the elements or relaxing at home, Tecumseh guarantees a perfect fit and unmatched comfort.

As Seen On...

From the rugged outdoors to the red carpet, Tecumseh Canada has made its mark. Our boots have been spotted on the feet of rock stars, Hollywood actors, and Olympians.

  • Music: Worn by Karin Axelsson of Sonic Syndicate and Annette Olzon (formerly of Nightwish), bringing Canadian warmth to the global stage.
  • Film & TV: Featured in Disney movies and the Netflix thriller "Hold the Dark," where our boots were so essential to the production that a pair was urgently flown from Nanaimo to Calgary to keep filming on schedule!
  • Sport: Championed by Canadian Olympic figure skater Jennifer Robinson.

The Tecumseh Difference

When you choose Tecumseh Canada, you are choosing more than just a boot or a slipper. You are choosing a legacy of quality, a celebration of Canadian heritage, and the promise of warmth that only genuine Canadian craftsmanship can provide.

Meet the Team Behind Tecumseh Canada

Passionate. Authentic. Canadian.

At Tecumseh Canada, we often say that we don’t just sell mukluks and moccasins—we craft experiences. But behind every pair of mukluks and moccasins is a dedicated team of real people who care deeply about keeping you warm, stylish, and connected to a rich heritage.

They are a close-knit group of designers, artisans, and outdoor enthusiasts united by a single goal: to bring the unparalleled warmth of traditional Canadian footwear to the world.

Sean Dupuis | President & Founder

The vision for Tecumseh Canada begins with our founder, Sean Dupuis. A proud French Canadian with Algonquin roots from the Ottawa Valley, Sean established the Tecumseh brand in Calgary in 2004. His goal was to bridge the gap between authentic Canadian craftsmanship and modern functional style, creating footwear that honours the land and its history.

Sean’s commitment to heritage extends well beyond Tecumseh. He is also the founder of Spirit Moccasins, an Aboriginal-owned brand registered with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCIB). Through Spirit Moccasins, Sean champions authentic, Indigenous-made footwear, ensuring that the artistry of the culture is preserved and respected.

As a dedicated philanthropist, Sean believes in giving back to the communities that support his work. Whether he is overseeing the company , organizing fundraisers, supporting local initiatives, or coaching dragon boat teams, Sean leads with heart and a deep respect for tradition.

The Artisans | The Hands of Tecumseh

The true heartbeat of our company is the team of skilled artisans. In an era of fast fashion and automated assembly lines, the team takes the road less traveled.

  • Master Cutters & Stitchers: Every piece of leather, suede, and sheepskin is handled with precision. The production team understands that natural materials behave differently, requiring a trained eye and steady hand to ensure every seam is durable and every lining is plush.
  • The "Finishing" Touch: We believe that quality is in the details. From the placement of the final grommet to the brushing of the suede, our team treats every pair as if it were being made for their own family member.

Our Promise to You

We are not a faceless corporation. We are a Canadian team that celebrates when we see our mukluk boots and moccasins on the streets, the slopes, or on movie sets.

Whether you are emailing us for sizing advice or unboxing your first pair of mukluks, know that there is a passionate team here in Canada cheering you on, ready to keep you warm for years to come.
